A look at QM2’s new interiors

Cunard’s popular ocean cruise liner Queen Mary 2 (QM2) has undergone a refurbishment of its interior spaces and guest experiences, with the new look recently debuted in Southampton.

Features of the grand ship, which once again was voted Best Luxury Cruise Ship (Large) in Luxury Travel magazine’s Gold List Awards for 2016, include revamped Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants and suites, a refurbished Grand Lobby, a transformed Kings Court Buffet, a new specialty restaurant, and a complete repaint of the ship’s exterior.

All suites and cabins onboard have undergone a soft refurbishment and 50 new cabins have also been added to the ship.

During its 25-day dry dock refurbishment, 55,200 square metres of luxurious new carpets were laid, with the addition of new soft furnishings and artwork.

The new design took inspiration from the original Queen Mary, which was launched in 1934.

Australians can experience the new-look ship when QM2 graces our shores in February 2017, where she will visit Sydney, as well as embarking on maiden voyages to Tasmania and Kangaroo Island in SA.
