Next weekend Port Macquarie will host the North Coast’s largest annual culinary festival, drawing gastronomes from across the country to sample the region’s local coffee, seafood, wines and produce. The Tastings on Hastings festival will see over 100 local farmers, artisans, winemakers, brewers, bakers and chefs come together to showcase their products on the main festival day on Saturday, while a number of more intimate and exclusive events will also take place over the weekend.

Thursday

Whale Bone Wharf Foragers Dinner

Thursday 26th October, 6.30pm

Hatted chef Peter Ridland (formerly of Jonah’s Whale Beach) will take guests on a culinary journey of Port Macquarie, showcasing produce from the local area in each course, set to a backdrop of the Hastings River.

Friday

Local Seafood Feast

Friday October 27, 6.30pm

Immerse yourself in Port Macquarie’s locally caught seafood with a fresh feast at Bill’s Fishhouse led by Head Chef Dominic Smith. The sustainable seafood will be teamed with local craft beers and NSW wines.

A$135 per person.

Saturday

Head to the western end of the Town Green for the main festival.

Sunday

Cassegrain Wines Long Lunch

Sunday 29th October, 1pm

The experience kicks off with exclusive wine and barrel tasting in the barrel room of Cassegrain Winery. This is followed by a five-course degustation of local produce matched with Cassegrain wines, while learning tips on selecting the best produce.
