A traveller’s treasure chest

For more than twenty-two years, Captain’s Choice has been a leading tour company for luxury travellers across the globe. Its five recently announced itineraries for 2017 do not divert from this first-class reputation. Spreading throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America the newly released collection of journeys are designed for small groups of travellers with an emphasis on impeccable service and exceptional experiences.

Ranging from 17 to 23 days, each all-inclusive itinerary offers something distinct. The Silk Road and Persia journey sees travellers board an opulent Golden Eagle train that takes them from Russia to Iran and features VIP experiences such as private performances in St Basil’s Cathedral and dinner at Moscow’s landmark 02 Lounge.

While on the Mysteries of the Caribbean tour through Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, guests can horseback ride up to Citadelle La Ferriere and enjoy a champagne reception at the top of Monte Isabel de Torres.

A combination of luxury treatment and rare cultural experiences are said to make the Captain’s Choice journeys remarkable. On the Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia tour, travellers learn the secrets of traditional Armenian cuisine, while the Upper Mekong and Golden Triangle journey includes visits to tribal villages and a botanical research centre.

Highlights of the Panama and the Andes by Rail trip include gastronomic dining on the first-class Inca Rail carriage, the renowned Tren Crucero journey along the Andean spine, and a steam haul trip from Otavalo to the indigenous community of Ibarra in Ecuador.

Rates for the 2017 journey collection start at $15,870 per person twin share for the 17-day Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia journey.
