Emirates opens new lounge in Melbourne

Forming one of the biggest outstation lounges in the world for airline Emirates, a new 1,268sqm first and business class lounge has been unveiled on level three at Melbourne International Airport.

With capacity for 241 passengers, the lounge features LED TV’s, leather armchairs, a dining room, prayer room, showering facilities and a business centre.

Hot and cold dishes from the buffet and a selection of champagne, wines and spirits are available to guests. From 1 March, the airline will replace the existing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft one of its four daily flights with an A380, so that Melbourne will be served twice daily with an Emirates A380.

In recent months, Emirates has also upgraded its London Heathrow and Perth International Airport lounges.
