Floating ballerinas dance into the Maldives

Featuring professional ballet dancers on over-water stages, PER AQUUM’s Motions of the Ocean is set to be a spectacular island experience. The luxury resort portfolio, renowned for its emphasis on innovation and exotic properties, is bringing a small group of ballerinas from the Mariinsky Ballet Company for two one-off performances at PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi and PER AQUUM Niyama.

Featuring soloist Xander Parish, the first British dancer to be employed by the Russian dance company, and a handpicked ensemble, the dancers will treat guests to performances of Swan Lake, Scheherazade, Giselle, Carmen and Don Quixote. During the series (Niyama on 21 August and Huvafen Fushi on 23 August), guests will have the opportunity to meet and take a ballet master class with Parish and the Mariinsky dancers.

The event is the latest from the PULSE series; a string of intimate, immersive experiences that PER AQUUM launched in late 2015. Featuring emerging artists, first class chefs and creative icons the series so far has seen epicurean dinner events, a performance from Grammy winner Joss Stone and bespoke workshops taught by Indian artist Nappa Dori, where guests learnt the art of leather making.

PER AQUUM is offering exclusive benefits including an upgrade at PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi, a 60-minute massage for two at PER AQUUM Niyama, an invitation to the pre-event cocktail party and a singed copy of Parish’s book for guests who book directly via the website.
