Lush and luxurious in Langkawi

St. Regis has expanded its portfolio in Southeast Asia, with the opening of its first property in Malaysia, in Langkawi.

Designed by renowned architecture firm Gensler, The St. Regis Langkawi has 85 suites, each with terraces and sea views; and four private, overwater villas. The resort is fringed by a 600-metre beach and overlooks a large, swimmable, salt-water lagoon, with a luxurious 800-square-metre spa, infinity swimming pool, and athletic club also available for guests.

The resort has six culinary options including Asian-inspired restaurant Kayuputi, which is decorated with a specially curated antique collection; accented with windows repurposed from the Dutch embassy in Yangon; and also features teak columns inlaid with camel bone from India.

Other dining and entertainment options include a French restaurant, a deli with breads and pastries, the St. Regis Bar with cocktails and canapés, and Decanter wine bar serving rare vintages.

Room rates start at US$540 (about A$700) per night. stregis.com/langkawi
