Singapore Airlines launches new cabin products

After four years of development and a $850 million investment, Singapore Airlines has revealed the new cabins for its Airbus A380 fleet. Highlights of the first major interior overhaul of the fleet since 2007 include a new first class cabin featuring half the number of suites (from 12 to six), each equipped with a swivel chair, a wardrobe and a full-flat bed, with the option for the beds in the first two suites of each aisle to be joined into a double bed. When not in use, the bed can be stowed completely, creating more personal space within the suite. The first class cabin also features its own bathroom with a sit down vanity counter, while the business class offering includes a 25-inch wide seat with an adjustable divider that reclines into a 78-inch full-flat bed.

In addition to the six first class suites, the new A380 fleet will be configured with 78 business class seats on the upper deck, and 44 premium economy seats on the main deck. The new cabin products are expected to be fitted to the airline’s A380 fleet from next month.
