Shangri-La Hotels has announced its second Sri Lankan property, set to open in the country’s commercial capital in November 2017. Located on ten acres of ocean-side urban park on the Galle Face Green promenade, the Shangri-La Colombo will offer views of the Indian Ocean from the majority of its 500 rooms and suites.

In addition, the building will have 41 serviced apartments, a spa and fitness centre, a swimming pool and bar overlooking the ocean and five dining venues including the brand’s signature Chinese eatery, an ocean view restaurant serving small dishes from Sri Lanka and South India and a lobby lounge offering Sri Lankan tea and custom-made edible chocolate jewellery. The hotel will also have the capacity to host events, with two ballrooms, an outdoor event space and a number of function rooms.
Forming part of a larger complex that will soon also accommodate an office tower, two residential buildings and a luxury shopping mall, the Shangri-La offers a new option for luxury travellers starting their holiday in the Sri Lankan capital.
The hotel will officially open on 16 November and will begin taking bookings from 1 September for stays from 1 December.
