Stay in sustainable style

Alila Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its network of sustainable boutique properties in the Asia-Pacific region, announcing the upcoming opening of its first property in China. Set to open its doors on 1 June, Alila Anji is a private resort located in Anji County in the Zhejiang province; a renowned bamboo and tea growing region four and a half hours out of Shanghai.

Over the past two decades, China has introduced sustainable environmental development zones and ecological counties in response to the necessity for sustainable development practices. Anji is an archetypal county of this initiative and, built aligning to EarthCheck operating standards (as are all Alila properties), the eco-luxury Alila Anji resort embraces its sustainably driven surroundings.

Located among lakes and hills surrounded by eco-friendly agriculture and industry, the 74-villa property is modelled on traditional village architecture. An emphasis on natural materials is echoed in interiors made from stone, native woods and bamboo. Guests can become further reacquainted with the great outdoors through activities such a tea picking, cycling and cooking.

The in-house spa has seven treatment rooms offering everything from restorative packages to traditional Chinese healing therapies. The main restaurant features five private dining rooms and authentic Chinese farm-to-table cuisine featuring local produce.

Alila Experience packages start from RMB 2,088 (A$438) per room night and Villa packages from RMB 2,888 (A$600) per night.
