Suite life: Crown Towers Melbourne

About the hotel

Crown Towers Melbourne sits in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct, which provides guests with an array of entertainment and dining options. The hotel was this year (2015) voted Best Australian Hotel in Luxury Travel magazine’s Gold List awards and facilities include a destination spa, a pool, gymnasium and tennis court and a collection of luxury boutiques and restaurants.

Unique features

The luxury shopping area provides guests with easy-access to boutiques like Burberry, BVLGARI, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Omega. In addition to an extensive culinary offering, Crown also has five bars and nightclubs for guests to entertain themselves.

Dining

Guests are spoilt for choice at Crown, with ten different restaurants and cafes providing a selection of Australian and International cuisine – from Japanese restaurant Nobu, to Neil Perry’s Rockpool Bar & Grill or Guillaume Brahimi’s Bistro Guillaume. We dined riverside at No. 8 By John Lawson, which served contemporary food using fresh, local produce.

Spa

Crown’s Spa has an extensive range of treatment options, from beautiful hammam to a therapeutic rain shower and an in-spa hair and beauty salon.

Highlights

Floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge area give views of either the city skyline or Port Phillip Bay.

If you’d like an upgrade

The Tower Suite is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 150-square-metre suite with a lounge room and dining area. Crown also offers one-bedroom Deluxe Villas for a private, penthouse experience.

Insider tip

Guests staying in the Executive Suites have complimentary access to the hotel’s Crystal Club Lounge, offering personalised check-in, breakfasts and afternoon teas, as well as pre-dinner drinks and canapés. Just like a club, the staff there remember your name and are super attentive and helpful. A dedicated concierge desk can research your requests, print out maps etc for your excursions while you relax with a drink and the newspapers (they even remember your preferred newspapers from the day before and deliver them to you!)
