Suite upgrade on Fifth Avenue

The Peninsula New York has unveiled its 235-square-metre Fifth Avenue Suite as the latest addition to its collection of signature suites.

Aptly named, the suite has views of Manhattan’s iconic Fifth Avenue from its 17th-floor position in the hotel, which is located in Midtown Manhattan.

With a 10-seat dining room, large living area, kitchen, private study, and bathroom with dressing room, the one-bedroom suite is now the second largest suite in the hotel. It can also be expanded to include two- and three-bedroom options.

The suite was designed by interior designer Bill Rooney to emulate a grand New York apartment and features a custom-made, embossed leather headboard highlighting the New York skyline in the bedroom; fully-panelled white leather walls and black and white granite flooring in the entrance; and marble accents in the bathroom.

From the bedroom, guests have a bird’s-eye view of the sculpture garden at the nearby Museum of Modern Art.

The hotel has also introduced Peninsula’s new tablet technology, with entertainment and guest services available in 11 different languages.

Suite rates start at US$19,000 (about A$25,087) per night. Guests can expect round-trip airport transfers in the hotel’s BMW 7-series, 24-hour check-in and check-out, mobile concierge service and premium beverages.
