Two Autograph Collection hotels to open in Malaysia

Built to encompass the national heritage site of the iconic Hotel Majestic, which dates back to the 1930’s, the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur seeks to capture the vintage glamour and opulence of its eponymous predecessor. The old Majestic Hotel has been fully restored and now makes up the Majestic Wing of the new hotel, housing the suites with butler service, The Colonial Café, The Bar and The Tea Lounge. The 15-storey Tower Wing is a new addition, offering guests a restaurant, 13 meeting rooms, a ballroom that seats up to 1200, a gymnasium and a swimming pool. The property is set on 3.2 acres on Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, opposite the old Moorish style railway station.

The Hotel Stripes, set to open in February 2017, will be the second addition to the Autograph Collection Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, moments from the CBD and convenient to local eateries, galleries, shops and tourist landmarks. The design of the hotel aims to reflect the unique history and character of the neighbourhood, as well as elements of contemporary design. The hotel will offer 184 bespoke guest rooms, event and meeting spaces and two restaurants.

The two new Malaysian hotels are owned by luxury hotel brand YTL Hotels. Owned by hotel brand Marriott International, the Autograph Collection is a select group of more than 100 independent luxury hotels around the world.

Rates for The Majestic Hotel start at approximately A$122 per night.
