Ponant’s 2025 Grand Voyages: Extended adventures in serious style

When two weeks of exploration with Ponant is not enough, discover Europe on one of the luxury line’s epic Grand Voyages

Lingering in a café in Lisbon – really taking the time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Strolling, through Bilbao’s incredible Guggenheim Museum and taking a true deep dive into World Heritage Sites, with no need to rush. These are just some of the joys that come from a 2025 European Grand Voyage with Ponant, where every journey is just as important as the destination, and where slowing down and appreciating life is a constant mantra.

From its fabled cities to its fishing villages, long stretches of coastline to snow-capped mountains, Europe never goes out of style. And the ultimate way to take in the diversity and drama of it all is on a Grand Voyage with Ponant – the luxury line was born here, in France, after all, and knows the continent like no other. These back-to-back sailings provide a rare opportunity to explore multiple regions in one seamless journey aboard luxurious small ships.

The Ponant experience is unpeered, with the line’s fleet of stylish small ships perfecting the art of exploration since it launched more than 35 years ago – with sustainability always top of mind. Think expeditions that journey to far-flung destinations as well as popular haunts – while you travel you can relax and enjoy the finest surrounds, gourmet cuisine and French-style hospitality. And when you step ashore you’re guaranteed itineraries expertly crafted by those who know the places you’re visiting best, for true immersion and off-the-beaten-path discoveries.

Enchanting Shores: From the English Channel to the Hebrides

Ponant’s experts have been busy crafting this brand-new itinerary, taking guests from Honfleur, France, to Glasgow, Scotland, from the English Channel to the Irish Sea, over 15 extraordinary nights.

This is a journey of magic, myths and legends, and of landscapes that are as varied as they are dramatic: volcanic peaks and rugged cliffs, serene lochs and rolling heather moors. Think exploring World Heritage Sites like the Giant’s Causeway, those dramatic interlocking basalt columns that carve Northern Ireland’s coast. Discovering the colourful, history-rich streets of Kinsale, often regarded as Ireland’s most beautiful village. Feeling the force of nature on the English isle of Portland, a wild and wonderful part of the Jurassic Coast. And marvelling at the Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis, that megalithic site dating back to the Stone Age. Finally, sail to the mythical islands of the Hebrides, where archaeological wonders and breathtaking vistas dazzle.

You’re taking in this ravishing part of Europe aboard Le Boréal, with a fleet of Zodiacs to whisk you to shore and a team of expert naturalist guides to guide you on land – and take you on a further deep dive when you return to the comforts of the onboard theatre to debrief and learn from the days advetnures.

From the Iberian Peninsula to the Hebrides

This is a true ‘pinch-me’ voyage, spending 26 nights charting a course between Lisbon and Glasgow aboard Le Champlain. This Grand Voyage includes the English Channel to the Hebrides itinerary above, but begins – 11 nights earlier – journeying along the Atlantic Coast, dropping in on some of the most fascinating destinations in Portugal, Spain and France including maiden ports in Brittany on the Quiberon peninsula and in Douarnenez.

The voyage begins in Lisbon, the beautiful Portuguese capital, where UNESCO Sites like Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower sit between Moorish streets in the Alfama district and luxury shops in Chiado. More World Heritage Sites await in Porto, home to grand bridges, Baroque churches, Medieval riverside precincts… not to mention the São Francisco Church, known for its lavish Baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings, and the he palatial 19th-century Palácio de Bolsa. An excursion takes you to Viana do Castelo, the jewel of the Costa Verde.

From Portugal, Le Champlain glides along the Atlantic Coast into Spain, revealing the wild and wonderful islands of Galicia National Park. The fishing village of Vigo is the gateway to Santiago de Compostela, the culmination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route and the alleged burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James. Small wonder it, too, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You don’t even have to enter the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao to be blown away – this architectural masterpiece by Frank Gehry is all dazzling titanium waves and jaw-dropping sculptures. Tour with an in-the-know guide to discover the rich collection of modern art within.

A highlight of any cruise with Ponant is gourmet cuisine and fine wine. On the ship, meals are overseen by legendary chef Alain Ducasse’s Council, matched with vintages from the destinations you’re visiting. Including, on this voyage, Bordeaux in France, the world’s wine capital and home to the UNESCO Port of the Moon. Savour food and wine tastings at Château Boutinet, then soak up the majesty of the countryside strolling through vineyards and the estate’s surrounding forests.

Book this itinerary from $21,400, saving up to $2,400 per person!*

Baltic Cities and Scandinavian Splendours

Visit UNESCO World Heritage sites like Karlskrona’s (Sweden’s only Baroque city) naval port, the Curonian Spit from Klaipeda (separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea), the Hanseatic town of Visby on the Swedish Island of Gotland, and the sea fortress of Suomenlinna in Helsinki, among other jaw-dropping destinations. This Grand Voyage also stops at Saaremaa in Estonia, a new port of call, where the island’s history reflects its many colonisations.

Feel the full force of nature in Scotland’s Orkney archipelago and the Northern Isles, where, from Kirkwall, history abounds in charming paved alleyways edged by old houses and craft shops, not to mention the remarkable red and gold stone cathedral. And because whisky is inseparable from Scotland’s identity, fortify yourself at the Highland Park Distillery.

Book this itinerary from $23,720, saving up to $800 per person!*

To make the adventure even more rewarding, Ponant offers 10% off the second and subsequent voyages booked, along with exclusive savings for a limited time*
