British Airways on flight BA16

Airline: British Airways

Flight number: BA16

Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER

Route: Sydney to Singapore

Seating: Business class/ Club World

Flight time: 8 hours, 15 mintues

The Cabin

British Airways’ Club World passengers have access to the Qantas business class lounge at Sydney International Airport. The cabins contain 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration with private access screens that go up and down at the touch of a button, ensuring privacy from other passengers but also easy access for cabin staff. The two toilets at the rear of the cabin are stocked with Elemis soap and hand cream. Elemis amenity kits are also provided.

Comfort

Seats are comfortable, with the option to convert into a 183-centimetre lie-flat bed. A single pillow and cotton blanket are provided.

Service

Really very good. I was given my dinner menu as soon as I sat down so that I could peruse the three-course meal options. Staff are attentive without being invasive.

Meals

A three-course meal is provided to Club World passengers. I opted for the seafood plate entrée of seared scallop, marinated prawn and smoked salmon. My main was char-grilled fillet of beef with red wine sauce, potatoes au gratin and sautéed savoy cabbage. I noted a decent vegetarian option available too, which is not always available on flights. Dessert was a fresh strawberry macaroon, however if you’re not a sweet tooth, there was also a cheese platter option.

The drinks selection had two choices of champagne cocktail available, along with a selection of premium liqueurs, wines and spirits.

Entertainment

The BA Recommends feature provides a selection of audio and movie/television recommendations for passengers to enable easy browsing without having to search through the entire entertainment catalogue.

Baggage

Club World passengers are allowed a generous three pieces of checked luggage, each with a maximum weight of 32 kilograms.

Loyalty program

The Executive Club is free to join, with members collecting Avios currency to spend on flights, cabin upgrades and other travel rewards. Accounts can be linked with other members of your household and the more tiers you move up, the more exclusive privileges are offered from British Airways and oneworld partner airlines.

Departures

Departed on time.

Would you fly with them again?

Yes, definitely. The service was great.
