In February this year, Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) introduced the Sustainable Travel Hub on its website, offering travellers an efficient means to explore interactive conservation initiatives, cultural immersions and eco-certified operators within the region. Tropical North Queensland (TNQ), enveloped in lush landscapes including the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, maintains a deep commitment to preserving the environment.
With the highest concentration of Ecotourism Australia certified experiences in the country, TNQ achieved significant feats like being the world’s first Eco Certified Destination for Douglas Shire and the Cassowary Coast. The Tropical North Queensland Sustainable Travel Hub further reinforces this dedication, guiding and inspiring meaningful travel by showcasing eco-certified operators and promoting participation in regenerative tourism. From contributing to reef management to supporting local cultures, TNQ’s devotion finds eloquent expression in TTNQ’s “Our Promise of Greater Good” video. The launch of the Sustainability Hub, coupled with a robust PR campaign, resulted in approximately $1,150,000 in domestic publicity through media engagements and morning TV shows, effectively shining a light on the region’s approach to tourism that restores, reconciles and regenerates.
