Welcome to our annual Gold List issue! Inside we reveal the finalists and winners of our reader-voted awards that celebrate the world’s best luxury properties, operators and destinations.

Now in its 13th year, the Gold List continues to honour old favourites and recognise new properties (see page 26). I’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who voted in this year’s awards and tuned in to our live social announcement on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you also to One&Only Resorts and InterContinental Bali Resort for providing fantastic voter prizes. While these awards are cause for celebration, there are some special people and properties currently going through a difficult time. To those affected by Cyclone Debbie, we’re thinking of you and – just like everyone who included you in their top picks – keenly awaiting your reopening.

If you’re looking for great savings on a luxury Thailand getaway, turn to our Luxe-for-Less feature on page 46 where you’ll find four great deals just for Luxury Travel readers. Also in this issue, we explore Iceland from Reykjavik to the remote west (page 53), and let you in on seven luxury winter escapes (page 63) in Australia and New Zealand.

We’re thrilled to introduce Good Living, a new section that will cover the most exciting health and wellness news from luxury properties around the globe. Craig Tansley takes us on a stand-up paddleboard yoga retreat in Twitter @LuxuryTravelAU Pinterest pinterest.com/LuxuryTravelAU Instagram @luxurytravelau follow us on: the Cook Islands (page 170) and I take a healing journey at Kamalaya (page 165), the winner of our Gold List award for Best Overseas Luxury Health and Wellness Property.

We’re also very excited about our exclusive cover from talented fashion illustrator Megan Hess. Look out for more of her work in coming issues.

Good Living isn’t the only change you’ll see over the coming editions. We’ve got some great ideas in the pipeline and we’d love to hear yours, too. Please let us know what you like and what you’d like to see more of.
