Crete’s ACRO Suites to reopen with new dining and wellness offering

The boutique, wellness-focused resort is introducing a new fine dining concept and weekly yoga sessions when it reopens for the Northern Hemisphere summer season in April.

On the Greek island of Crete, the design forward ACRO Suites is introducing a new restaurant and wellness activities when it reopens on 20 April for the Northern Hemisphere summer season.

The boutique resort is set on the cliffside of Agia Pelagia with panoramic views of the Aegean waters of Mononaftis Bay. It has a strong emphasis on wellness experiences, with a hammam-inspired Bath House that includes an authentic Byzantine Hammam, a dry sauna, an outdoor pool, and a menu of holistic treatments.

Its new restaurant Elaionas (translating to ‘olive grove’ in Greek), will be a gastronomic, fine dining establishment when it launches this season, with a variety of Cretan specialties, as well as olive oil and wine tasting experiences.

Also new for 2023, weekly yogic deep relaxation sessions will be held on Sunday evenings in the resort’s Asana Yoga Shala, built out of bamboo. The sessions will be rooted in the practice of yoga nidra—a conscious yogic deep sleep induced by guided meditation.

Design notes

The resort design brings together elements of the beautiful Cretan surroundings with contemporary touches to create a barefoot luxury aesthetic.

The minimalist design runs through the 49 suites, lofts, and villas, which feature muted tones, sleek furnishings, and natural textures. The Cave Suites have bespoke timber furnishings, stone, and other natural finishes such as raw silk bed covers. It has a private pool with sea views and have been thoughtfully designed to maintain a stable temperature year-round, without the need for air conditioning or heating.
