One of London’s most recognisable landmarks will begin welcoming overnight guests for the first time in its history as the Grade I listed ceremonial arch on The Mall, opposite Buckingham Palace, becomes a luxury hotel
Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch has opened reservations ahead of an autumn debut, marking the culmination of one of London’s most ambitious restoration projects. The 200,000 square foot monument, commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of Queen Victoria and designed by Sir Aston Webb (the architect behind the Buckingham Palace façade) has been transformed into a 114-room luxury hotel and residences.
“Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch represents a rare convergence of history, place and possibility,” says Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, Hilton luxury brands. “To open a building of such cultural and national significance to overnight guests for the first time is both a privilege and a responsibility.”

Rooms and residences
The hotel’s 114 rooms, suites and residences are crafted to honour the building’s historic architecture while introducing the understated elegance for which Waldorf Astoria is known. Residential and signature suites occupy more than half the accommodation space, with names drawn from the building’s naval heritage – among them the Nelson Suite, St James’s Residence and Victory Residence, named after HMS Victory.

Dining by Clare Smyth and Daniel Boulud
Two destination restaurants from chefs whose combined portfolios hold eight Michelin stars will open within the hotel. Coreus, set within the former home of the First Sea Lord, is Clare Smyth MBE’s fine dining concept celebrating the UK’s coastal heritage through sustainably sourced seafood and British produce. Smyth – the only British woman whose restaurants currently hold four Michelin stars – will also open an intimate Whiskey & Seaweed bar inspired by her iconic Potato and Roe dish.
On the rooftop, Café Boulud marks Daniel Boulud’s return to London with an all-day dining format spanning breakfast and pastries through to dinner, paired with sweeping views across St James’s Park and Buckingham Palace.

Events and wellness
A ballroom spanning 3,540 square feet and featuring a nine-metre antique Murano chandelier restored in Rome, is accessible via the building’s original oval staircase, while the hotel’s spa offers a more intimate experience with treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy pool.
“Opening reservations marks a defining moment for the hotel, and we are immensely proud to bring this extraordinary building to life for the city,” says Guillaume Marly, general manager.

The details
Reservations are now open for stays from 1 March 2027, with earlier availability to be released as the hotel approaches its autumn opening. waldorfastoria.com
