Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ sustainable accommodation portfolio, Beyond Green, has launched four new itineraries as part of its Plan Your Trip programme, designed in partnership with specialist travel provider, Nomadic Expeditions, for travellers seeking immersive holiday experiences that support sustainable tourism.
The all-inclusive trips, which range between seven and 12 days, will take guests on journeys to explore destinations including Bhutan, Nepal, Mongolia, and India, and have been crafted to have a positive impact on nature, uplift local communities, and preserve local cultural heritage. Trips can be customised to suit travellers, with accommodation at Beyond Green’s member properties.
Highlights of the Bhutan Explorer Journey include discovering the capital of Thimphu, a visit to the exceptionally preserved fortress of Punakha Dzong, a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, and spotting the black-necked cranes in Phobjikha.
On the 12-day Iconic Nepal trip, travellers will take in the energetic sites of Kathmandu, meet with a Tibetan Buddhist community at Bodnath, and encounter a Hindu temple complex, and take in the natural attractions of the Pokhara Valley and the wildlife of Chiitwan National Park.
The Mongolia Explorer offers a deep dive into the sprawling landscapes and nomadic heritage of this remote region. The trip includes taking in the highlights of the nation’s capital of Ulaanbaatar, an excursion by camelback across sand dunes, and viewing ancient fossils at the Flaming Cliffs. Accommodation will be in traditional gers, and guests will have the opportunity to meet with locals to learn more about their traditions.
Travellers wanting to discover India may wish to book the 12-day Exploring Rajasthan itinerary, which takes in the forts and palaces of this storied state. Starting in the ‘pink city’ of Jaipur, travellers will then visit traditional villages in Rajasthan’s rural heartland, before visiting iconic landmarks such as the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur and the exquisite Lake Palace in Udaipur. Guests can also partake in activities like wildlife conservation along the way.
