&Beyond to Open First South American Lodge
The lodge continues the travel company’s expansion across South America, following the introduction of tours in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador
Luxury experiential travel company &Beyond has announced it has taken over its first lodge in South America. &Beyond Vira Vira in Chile’s Lake District – an elegant property set on a flourishing working farm – adds to the company’s portfolio of award-winning properties in Africa, with the exclusive property set to be used by &Beyond as the cornerstone for a series of lodge circuits in South America.
With a plethora of adventure activities available from the lodge such as horse riding, hiking, fly fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, skiing and scenic helicopter flights, &Beyond CEO Joss Kent said the company is excited to bring its trademark interpretive guiding experience to new shores. “This is an important step forward in achieving our goal of replicating our African integrated lodge model on another continent,” she said.
Following the existing model in Africa, &Beyond aims to care for the land, people, and wildlife, providing a meaningful impact on South America through sustainably ethical business practices, and the new lodge will work with the local Mapuche people, incorporating their ancient wisdom, respect for the natural world and way of life into the guest experience, giving travellers the opportunity to experience local traditions.
&Beyond Vira Vira comes following the travel company’s launch into South American tourism, through a solid tour operating platform in Chile and Argentina, as well as Peru and Ecuador. In parallel to this expansion, the company continued to search for properties, as well as other conservation and community development-led opportunities that fit the &Beyond model, before discovering &Beyond Vira Vira.
&Beyond Vira Vira is currently closed and will reopen on 1st September 2018.
