Opening in 2028, Capella Kenting promises an ultra-luxury experience with oceanfront villas and personal hot springs in every suite.
Capella Hotels & Resorts has announced the development of its first resort in Kenting, Taiwan, Hotel Designs has reported. Scheduled to open in 2028, Capella Kenting will be the second Capella property in Taiwan, offering a luxurious oceanfront retreat on the western coastline of the Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung.
The resort will span 99,000 square metres and feature 65 exclusive villas, each designed to provide unparalleled privacy and tranquillity. The architectural design, led by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, founders of ACPV Architects, draws inspiration from Pingtung’s indigenous architecture and the rich natural environment of the Hengchun Peninsula. The architects have incorporated elements such as low walls made of stacked stones, reflecting the region’s tribal houses, and have ensured that the spaces embrace the local environment, allowing guests to connect deeply with the serene surroundings.
Capella Kenting aims to set a new standard for luxury travel in Taiwan, with the largest hotel rooms in the country. The villas will start at a spacious 197 square metres and include private swimming pools, hot spring facilities, and 180-degree sea views. These features allow guests to fully immerse themselves in Kenting’s natural beauty, spectacular sunset views, and a serene atmosphere.
The Capella Wellness program will be central to the Capella Kenting experience. This wellness offering will blend traditional southern Taiwanese practices with Capella’s signature therapies, which are designed according to the lunar phases. The program aims to provide guests with a deeply immersive and restorative experience, further enhanced by the tranquillity of Kenting’s natural environment.
Culinary experiences at Capella Kenting will be equally distinctive. They will focus on locally harvested ingredients presented through a farm-to-table concept. This approach not only supports sustainability but also ensures that every meal is a celebration of local flavours and culinary artistry.
Capella Kenting will also feature The Living Room, the cultural heart of the resort, where Capella Culturists will curate meaningful experiences for guests. These experiences, part of the Capella Curates program, will provide insights into the local culture and traditions, enriching the stay for modern travellers seeking both luxury and cultural immersion.
Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group, expressed excitement about the new development, stating, “Capella Kenting will embody the principles of personalised luxury and immersive local experiences that define the Capella brand. We look forward to offering our guests an entirely new and unforgettable experience in this beautiful part of Taiwan.”
