Luxury tour group Captain’s Choice announce 2023 Asian journeys
Captain’s Choice has unveiled two new itineraries through Asia for 2023: Temples and Trails through Bhutan, and Castles, Cuisine & Customs of Japan.
Join a small-group luxury tour, for no more than 24 guests, on the 8-Day Temples and Trails through Bhutan to experience the remote Himalayan kingdom in the world’s only carbon-negative country.
The tour includes five hikes in Bhutan’s beautiful wilderness on the Trans Bhutan Trail, crossing the famous Punakha suspension bridge across the Pho Chhu River. One trail includes walking from the valley floor up to Taktsang monastery, ‘Tiger’s Nest’, built into vertical cliffs above Paro Valley.
After each trek, guests can unwind at the luxury Six Senses lodges of Bhutan. The journey departs Paro on 18 March 2023.

Up to 24 guests on the 9-Day Castles Cuisine & Customs of Japan will explore cultural highlights of Japan, celebrating the contrasts of ancient traditions and innovation.
The itinerary will take in Mt Fuji, sake tastings, snow monkeys, bamboo groves and bullet trains. The tour commences in Tokyo before travelling by train to Matsumoto to venture into the countryside and see snow monkeys and macaques in the wild. A trip to Kyoto will unveil shrines, temples, Zen gardens and geisha culture.
Experience the culinary highlights of Japan, including Tokyo’s revered sushi artisans to the premium restaurants of Gion and even a Buddhist meal in Kankaku-Ji. Guests will stay in fine hotels and onsens. The journey departs Tokyo on 12 October 2023.
