Crystal announces wellness retreats at sea

Luxury cruise line introduces two voyages focused on holistic wellness with expert-led programs and immersive excursions

Luxury cruise experiences leader Crystal has announced two special wellness-focused sailings for December 2024. Set aboard the Crystal Symphony, the retreats offer guests holistic wellness programs designed in collaboration with leading health, spa, and fitness experts. The voyages promise a blend of rejuvenation and self-discovery, highlighting Crystal’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

The first wellness retreat will depart from Barcelona on December 1, 2024, for a 14-night voyage, with stops in Gibraltar, Morocco, the Canary Islands, and Cape Verde. The second voyage will begin on December 14, 2024, from Tema, Ghana, to Cape Town, South Africa, over eight nights, including a stop in Namibia. Each journey will feature curated wellness programs encompassing healthy aging, functional nutrition, fitness, mental wellbeing, and body and mind detox.

Dalila Roglieri, Crystal’s Head Nutritionist, emphasised how important it was to align offerings with discerning travellers’ evolving tastes and needs. “These voyages will continue to shape a new era of exceptional experiences for Crystal,” she noted.

The Crystal Symphony wellness retreats will include a variety of programs and activities:

  • Culinary wellness: Guests will enjoy whole, plant-based menus developed by Crystal’s culinary team in collaboration with Dalila Roglieri. In-suite herbal teas and fresh vegetable smoothies will be available for intermittent fasting detox days.
  • Fitness and mobility: The retreats will offer fitness programs, including strength and mobility training, spinning, posture workouts, aerobics, walking sessions, and golf instruction. Pickleball clinics and dance classes such as Rumba, Salsa, Merengue, and Tango will also be available.
  • Mental and emotional wellbeing: Retreat offerings will include daily yoga routines, brain exercise programs like bridge classes and painting lessons, and a digital detox program aimed at purifying the mind. Renowned keynote speakers will also provide lectures on various wellness topics.
  • Wellness excursions: Guests can participate in wellness-focused excursions, including hikes, nature walks, Hammam packages, cooking classes, and farm-to-table experiences. Activities such as kayaking, pickleball, and golf matches in scenic environments will also be offered.

The retreats will feature a roster of wellness experts:

  • Minna McHale: Personal trainer and yoga teacher specialising in movement and mobility.
  • Jenni Demus: Yoga specialist and mental health expert.
  • Dalila Roglieri: Registered Nutritionist with expertise in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition.
  • Dr. Christine Houghton: A nutritionist with a PhD in Nutrigenomics and founder of the Institute for Nutrigenomic Medicine.

Crystal’s third luxury superyacht, Luminara, will offer 226 spacious suites and accommodate up to 452 guests. The onboard experience will feature world-class dining, an extensive wine collection, a signature Ritz-Carlton Spa, and a dynamic marina providing direct sea access. Guests can choose from select group, pre-designed private, or custom private excursions, ensuring a tailored journey catering to personal passions, from leisurely to adventurous.
