The countdown is on to the Paris Summer Olympic Games. In less than 100 days, thousands of athletes and even more spectators will descend on the French capital. And for the Aussies out there, many eyes will be on the action in the pool. Here’s how to see Olympic swimming events with out-of-this-world Official Hospitality and Travel Packages.
In partnership with On Location
At the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, 21 of Australia’s 46 medals were won in the swimming pool. It makes sense – Aussies are practically born and raised in the water. And if we’re not in there splashing about ourselves, we’re cheering on the country’s top swimming athletes from the sidelines.
While the U.S. has won more gold medals than Australia over the years, Aussie athletes have taken home 56 golds since swimming became a sport, putting it in second place on the ladder.
Despite the fact that there are now less than 35 days until the Olympic Games Paris 2024, there are still opportunities to ensure you catch all the green-and-gold swimming action at Paris La Défense Arena, a truly exceptional aquatics facility with three levels. These events will be popular, but with an Official Hospitality or Travel Package you’re guaranteed premium seating, and will also be able to relax in style at a number of exclusive private and shared lounges.
Read on for some of the Olympic Games swimming highlights, as well as how you can be part of the action via On Location’s Official Hospitality and Travel Packages.

Olympic Games Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony
Your first chance to glimpse athletes from around the world will be at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, held on Friday 26 July. In a world first, the spectacular event will not be held in a stadium. Instead, it will unfold along the banks of a river, the Seine, and will give millions of visitors the chance to view the world’s top athletes as they parade against the backdrop of some of Paris’ most iconic landmarks.
If you want exclusive access, make the most of the Official Hospitality and Travel Packages from the Official Hospitality Provider, On Location. This gives you access to premium seats – and premium viewing – of the Ceremony and guaranteed tickets to other events of your choice. It also gives you access to shared or private hospitality lounges.
This is the first time Official Hospitality Experiences have been made available to the general public at an Olympic Games. It’s your chance to make attending a sporting event in Paris an exhilarating once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Swimming history at the Olympic Games
Swimming has been part of the fabric of the Olympic Games for a long time. Initially, events were held amid nature. But since the Olympic Games London 1908, they’ve taken place in a pool. Freestyle and breaststroke were the only swimming events at the Olympic Games Athens 1896, with backstroke added in 1904 then butterfly in 1956 at Melbourne. Women’s swimming joined the Olympic program in 1912. Today, women now compete in as many events as men.
