Opening in summer 2026 on Hiiumaa Island, Eha is a design-led wellness retreat that draws on Estonia’s five seasons, ancestral traditions and the restorative power of nature
A new wellness retreat is set to open in Estonia’s Hiiumaa Island in summer 2026. Called Eha – meaning ‘dusk’ in Estonian – the property will focus on stillness, nature and seasonal rhythms on one of Europe’s quietest islands. Hiiumaa, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is two-thirds forested and ringed by wild beaches, offering the dark skies and unique biodiversity that the retreat says shape its philosophy.
Eha will comprise eight suites and three forest cabins, designed by architect Tiit Trummal with interiors from Studio Argus, UNT+CO and Vaikla Studio. The buildings will echo traditional Estonian forms while keeping to a restrained Nordic palette, framing views of forest and sea.

Retreats will be led by Estonian-born wellness director Kai Laus, who has built programmes around the island’s five-season cycle of spring, summer, autumn, winter and “springrise”. Guests can expect evidence-based practices combined with local traditions, from thermal rituals and breath-led movement to foraging and reflection in nature.
Dining will be overseen by Green Michelin Star chef Peeter Pihel. Menus will highlight produce from the retreat’s organic kitchen garden, local farmers and foragers, and line-caught fish, with dishes designed to balance nourishment and simplicity.

Co-founder Eva Maran says Eha “celebrates the essence of the Estonian people – their respect for nature, quiet strength and enduring sense of community.” The philosophy extends through low-waste principles, seasonal design and a deliberately intimate scale.
Five-night retreats are priced from £5,000 (about AU$9,500) per person, based on double occupancy, with dining, treatments and activities included. Exclusive use of the property is also available on request.
