Escape Bathhouse will transform a Spanish Mission-style heritage site into a two-level wellness retreat with saunas, ice baths and mineral pools
A new wellness destination is set to open on Sydney’s North Shore in spring 2025, offering a curated bathhouse experience focused on relaxation, connection and self-care.
Escape Bathhouse, from the team behind luxury glamping retreat Sierra Escape Mudgee, will take up residence in the heritage-listed Seymour building, a 1930s-era site known for its Spanish Mission-style architecture. The 320-square-metre space will be reimagined as a two-level sanctuary, blending restored architectural features with modern wellness design.

Plans for the ground floor include a hot mineral pool and a non-alcoholic wellness bar, while the upper level will feature a steam room, infrared saunas, ice baths, and dedicated massage treatment rooms.
The new venue aims to offer an accessible urban alternative to the remote serenity of Sierra Escape. “We’ve always been passionate about creating spaces where people can truly reconnect – with themselves, with their partners, and with their friends,” said Tasch D’Arcy, co-founder of both Sierra Escape and Escape Bathhouse.

While bathhouse and sauna culture has seen renewed interest globally, Escape Bathhouse will be one of the first dedicated venues of its kind in Sydney’s North Shore, combining traditional hydrotherapy principles with a social and design-forward approach to wellness.
Construction is underway, with opening expected in spring 2025.
