Aventora Resort Baía Formosa will debut in 2028 in Rio Grande do Norte, marking the first property under Minor Hotels’ new Minor Reserve Collection luxury brand

Minor Hotels has revealed that Brazil’s northeast will host the inaugural property for Minor Reserve Collection, its newly launched luxury soft brand. Scheduled to open in 2028, Aventora Resort Baía Formosa will be situated in Rio Grande do Norte, a region increasingly recognised for eco-tourism, Atlantic Forest landscapes and year-round sunshine.

Announced last year, Minor Reserve Collection is positioned as a curated portfolio of distinctive luxury hotels, selected for their individuality and connection to place. Rather than a uniform template, the brand is designed around personal expression, refined design and destination-led experiences – a direction in keeping with the interests of luxury travellers.

Rooms and location

Aventora Resort Baía Formosa, Minor Reserve Collection will integrate hospitality and residential living, comprising 50 guest rooms and 28 branded residences – reflecting a growing trend for owned property within high-end resort settings.

The property will be located near Baía Formosa, south of Natal and within reach of Pipa Beach, an area known for its dramatic cliffs, marine life and stretches of preserved Mata Atlântica. The wider region draws travellers for kite surfing, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding and mangrove kayaking, alongside dune systems such as Genipabu and bays frequented by dolphins and sea turtles.

Natal, the state capital – often referred to as the “City of the Sun” for its more than 300 days of sunshine annually – serves as the jumping off point for the region.

Resort living

Plans for the new property include multiple dining venues, from all-day dining and specialty restaurants to a pool bar and lobby lounge. Wellness facilities are set to feature a dedicated spa, fitness centre and exercise studio, complemented by a kids’ club and curated library. Activities beyond the resort will be rooted in the surrounding coastline and mangroves.

The resort will be approximately 60 minutes by road from both Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport in Natal and João Pessoa International Airport in Paraíba.

Minor Hotels’ other luxury brand, Anantara, will open a second property in Brazil in 2026.
