New luxe wellness weekend on Hayman Island

Taking place at the end of October, the Elevate Wellness Weekend marks the first of a new event series at InterContinental Hayman Island Resort

Elevate Wellness Weekend marks the first in a new event series, Signature Events at Hayman, launched at InterContinental Hayman Island Resort on Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef.

Taking place 27–30 October, the Elevate weekend is designed to cater to a rising demand for wellness tourism, according to InterContinental Hayman Island Resort General Manager, Arpad Romandy.

“Launching our event series with a wellness weekend made sense on so many levels. Wellness Tourism is consistently one of the fastest growing tourism segments and travellers around the world are increasingly turning to travel for mental and physical wellbeing”, said Romandy.

The three-day event, curated in partnership with musical wellness company Vibrate Your Mind, will incorporate meditation, yoga, breathwork, and sound healing practices for a holistic experience. Workshops, events, outdoor activities, and special healthy dining menus will all take place against the picturesque backdrop of the reef.

“The resort’s location within the Great Barrier Reef — one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, is very conducive to a restorative wellness weekend. Our guests will have the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect”, added Romandy.

Guests can tailor their weekend to their preferences, with activities like sunrise or sunset hikes, meditation sessions in the rainforest, snorkelling in the coral gardens around the resort, or relaxing on the beach.

Guest facilitators slated to join the weekend include former INXS frontman and Grammy award-nominated songwriter, Ciaran Gribbin, leading mass-meditation facilitator and recording artist Susan Quirke, sound healer and kinesiologist Matty Rainbow, and yogini Seriya Cutbush. Gribbin will offer the chance to participate in one-on-one sound writing sessions and will perform during an ‘Intimate and Unplugged’ session.

In addition to the wellness inclusions for the weekend, specials will be offered at the resort’s newly opened Elemis Hayman® Spa.

Elevate weekend packages start from $4,199 per room for single occupancy, or $6,399 for double occupancy, and include accommodation, breakfast daily in Pacific Restaurant, return luxury airport cruise transfers from Hamilton Island Marina, access to all workshops, speakers and events, and a curated wellness menu for lunch and dinner.

A portion of the proceeds from each package will be donated to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
