JW Marriott enters Ranthambore, one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves

JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa

JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa has opened its first full season as Ranthambore National Park’s core zones returned to access on 1 October 2026, giving guests their earliest opportunity to experience the resort alongside the park’s flagship jungle drives.

Set where the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges meet, the resort offers 127 accommodations across a range of categories: 14 tented suites – four with temperature-controlled private pools – 10 family villas with private pools, a Presidential Suite, executive rooms with lake views, junior suites with private garden access and a selection of deluxe rooms.

Architecture and interiors, led by Singapore-based Ashton Design, draw on the natural palette of Ranthambore. Earth tones, open courtyards and native flora — oleander, Indian blackberry, mango and mulberry — run throughout the grounds, alongside birdlife including the Purple Sunbird, Indian Paradise Flycatcher and White-throated Kingfisher.

Ranthambore is known primarily for its tigers, but the surrounding landscape offers more beyond the safari experience. The UNESCO-listed Ranthambore Fort, the Trinetra Ganesh Temple and centuries-old ruins and lakes sit within the same terrain. The resort is designed with a program of on-property activities that includes guided nature walks, pottery and bangle-making sessions with local artists, camel cart rides, art walks, pickleball, soft archery, a bowling alley, stargazing and private cooking sessions at the on-site Culinary School.

Dining

The dining program begins with Skyloft, a rooftop restaurant conceived around the traditional machan — the elevated observation towers historically used to watch the forest. The menu draws on royal recipes from the kitchens of Mewar and Marwar, reinterpreted through a contemporary approach. Roar, the all-day restaurant, covers international cuisine, while Elan, the poolside bar, serves cocktails, wine and artisanal gelato. The JW Market operates as a retail and grab-and-go destination spotlighting Indian brands alongside fresh coffee. Across all venues, produce is sourced in part from the JW Garden, an on-site kitchen garden.

Activities

Wellness is organised around Spa by JW, which features six treatment rooms, steam, sauna and jacuzzi facilities. Treatments are structured around Ayurvedic principles, with each program tailored to the guest’s individual dosha. A fitness centre sits alongside.

For families, Family by JW provides a complimentary program through Eureka, the indoor children’s club, and Replay – arcade games, mini golf, remote-controlled racing cars and speed cricket. The resort also holds 2,767 square metres of event space across six venues.

The resort is 30 minutes from Sawai Madhopur Railway Station, three hours from Jaipur and five hours from New Delhi.
