Bed-to-beach luxury resort Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort has refreshed its interiors.
Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort, off the northern coast of Mozambique, has refreshed its interiors and added a host of new signature experiences for guests.
The African island has just 12 thatched Beach Pool Villas that open directly to the beach, each with a newly designed private splash pool. The design incorporates refreshed décor, with custom-designed furniture and lighting by interior designers Savile Row. Vibrant colours have been used to reflect the local culture, with framed artworks made using traditional wax printed capulana fabrics from local markets.
Surrounded by the coral reefs of Quirimbas National Park, the area is a pristine snorkelling and scuba diving destination and has an abundance of natural life for guests to explore, including dolphin and whale watching and turtle sightings.
For those who seek the thrill of water sports, the Medjumbe Island Resort offers water-skiing, wake and knee-boarding and sailing. Guided by a team of three skippers, the newly introduced couple’s dhow sailing boat lesson is a 90-minute ride in the Indian Ocean with a chance to master traditional techniques of sailing.
A Robinson Crusoe star bed experience has also been introduced, inviting couples to spend the night in a king-size four-poster bed, with the only light from surrounding lanterns and the night sky.
All-inclusive packages at Anantara Medjumbe Island start from A$1,180 per room, per night. medjumbe.anantara.com
