Spicers Scenic Rim releases summer walking itineraries

Outdoors enthusiasts can experience Queensland’s only Great Walk of Australia as Spicers releases the departure dates for its Scenic Rim trail hikes this summer.

Spicers Scenic Rim has released its itineraries for summer 2022/2023, set on 60 kilometres of walking trails in the immense, high-altitude Gondwana Rainforests of Queensland.

Departing on selected dates from 12 December 2022 through to 1 March 2023, the walking program includes one eight-kilometre half-day hike, two 16-kilometre full-day hikes with experienced guides, curated dining experiences, and three nights’ accommodation at Spicers eco-camps along the way. Each walk takes a maximum of 12 guests per departure.

Highlights include waterfall and river crossings, more challenging boulder terrain, and a climb up Bare Rock on day three, which provides 360-degree vistas of the surrounding landscapes and Brisbane and the Gold Coast skylines on a clear day. On the final night at Spicers Canopy Glamping Tents, hikers celebrate with a sunset toast to their walking adventure.

Spicers Scenic Rim is Queensland’s only inclusion in the Great Walks of Australia collection, recognised for its breath-taking scenery, ecotourism credentials, and luxurious accommodation.

Sustainability

In conjunction with the Queensland Government, Spicers is trialling hydrogen renewal green energy, which sees all eco-camps operating off the grid, without the need for using diesel-powered generators.

From AUD$3297 per person, twin share. Solo bookings are also available.
