Belmond has announced the highly-anticipated debut of Villa Beatrice, a stunning private villa on the Italian Riviera available for exclusive use. The villa, a family palazzo that has been masterfully restored, is located within a protected national park on a private spit above Punta Caiega – between the coastal hamlets of Paraggi and Portofino – and comes with private sea access. With bookings now open, Villa Beatrice is set to offer one of the most secluded and private experiences on the Italian Riviera.

Originally known as Villa Odero and built by Ligurian industrialist Attilio Odero, the property was designed by Tuscan architect Gino Coppedè and blends Gothic Revival with Art Nouveau influences. It was acquired by Belmond in 2021 and underwent an extensive restoration led by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, with landscape design by Marco Bay.

The villa spans three main floors, with an additional attic ‘Torretta’ floor and rooftop terrace, and can accommodate up to ten guests across five rooms, including La Casetta, a secluded one-bedroom cottage set among citrus groves.

Every detail of Villa Beatrice reflects its Ligurian heritage. “Each element tells the story of Villa Beatrice, offering guests an authentic experience that highlights the charm and history of Portofino – this is the essence of true luxury,” Brudnizki stated.

Interiors feature marble bathrooms, a curated collection of heritage antiques and artworks sourced from local estate sales and auctions, and materials custom-made by Italian artisans. Meanwhile, Villa Beatrice boasts carefully preserved original features, including Coppedè’s external frescoes and intricate ceilings, and is distinguished by whimsical details including a torretta, wrought iron motifs and arched windows, setting it apart from Portofino’s more traditional patrician villas. The restoration includes terracotta and Graniglia alla Genovese marble flooring, Palissandro blue marble in the bathrooms, and handcrafted furnishings using Vienna straw, ceramics from Albisola Superiore, along with playful scagliola finishes.

Gardens

The villa’s surrounding grounds showcase lush landscaping and a subtropical ‘sea garden’, and guests have access to a plunge pool with a sun deck, a fully equipped kitchen with the option of a personal chef, a gym, and a summer pavilion designed for yoga or spa treatments. Expansive shaded terraces provide a setting for al fresco dining and family gatherings, all with panoramic views over the Gulf of Tigullio, stretching from Paraggi and Cinque Terre to Portofino.

Amenities

A 24-hour butler, private chef, yoga instructor and personal trainer are also available, reinforcing the villa’s offering as a fully serviced private retreat. Inclusive experiences include cooking classes, gelato tasting, mixology and art lessons, as well as a two-hour sunset cruise and round-trip airport transfers. Additional experiences, such as sailing with a marine biologist or stargazing with an astronomer, are available by arrangement.

Guests of Villa Beatrice have access to the full suite of services from nearby Splendido, A Belmond Hotel – which reopened on 7 June 2025 following a multi-year renovation and restoration, also led by Brudnizki. The hotel, a former 16th-century Benedictine monastery, unveiled new spaces at the last two summer reopenings: New rooms and a lobby debuted in 2024, while in 2023 the hotel unveiled a transformed pool area, famously overlooking the sparkling Ligurian Bay, as well as the new Splendido Grill restaurant and the renovated Baronessa Suite, one of the hotel’s signature suites inspired by the noble Palazzos of the region.

With renovations officially complete, Splendido last month revealed a renovated main building with new rooms and communal areas, including a restyled cocktail bar; coffee bar; lounge bar; breakfast area; retail space; champagne display and a lavish Dior Spa. This new wellness space includes four treatment cabins and a dedicated relaxation space on an exclusive roof terrace – and is the first permanent Dior Spa in Italy.

Villa Beatrice is now available for exclusive-use bookings through to 2 November 2025.
