The luxury glamping experience launching in the NSW Southern Highlands
You can now experience remote NSW with your own concierge, expert local guides and bespoke experiences including a canoe ride through Kangaroo Valley forestland complete with canapés and champagne.
Set on a private 1,000 acre property in the historical mining town of Joadja about an hour northwest of Kangaroo Valley, WILDfest is a three-day wilderness retreat combining luxury hospitality, gourmet feasts and immersive wilderness experiences.
Guests will arrive at the camp base by four wheel drive transfer on Friday and will be shown to their luxury bell tent before heading to the camp’s dining quarters where chef Brigid Kennedy and her team from The Loch in Berrima will serving and preparing meals over the course of the weekend. Dishes will feature farm-to-plate produce such as hand reared Angus beef, artisan cheeses and accompanied by award-winning local wines.
A post-lunch mountain hike in the native bushlands will give guests the opportunity to become acquainted with the surrounding landscape and the local wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies and wombats. The first evening will kick off with sundowners overlooking the water followed by a gourmet barbeque under the milky way, with the option to take part in a night photography lesson before retiring to bed on 900-thread count sheets.
Other highlights of the long-weekend experience include a bush yoga session, a native Australian feast in the ruins of a remote mining settlement, a cycle through the wilderness, a wild bush spa experience and a seven-course native feast created by Grand Bistro’s Damien Monley and accompanied by a live acoustic performance.
WILDfest will run from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th October and prices range from A$2,450 per person for a four-share tent to A$2,950 per person for a king double. An early bird discount of A$500 will be available for bookings before 30th June 2017.
