Belmond’s luxurious Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train will host the second edition of Travel with Pride, an event celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community, set to depart Paris on 2 November.
Travelling from Paris to Venice, the train’s vintage carriages will become a flamboyant party venue with performances from acclaimed DJs Honey Dijon and Purple Disco Machine, and hosted by American writer and TV producer, Gary Janetti (Family Guy, Will and Grace), and Canadian celebrity stylist Brad Goreski (Canada’s Drag Race).
In Paris, passengers will be welcomed aboard the train with a glass of champagne before the journey south through the French countryside. A four-course dinner by acclaimed chef Jean Imbert will be served before guests gather in Bar Car 3674.
Kicking off the soundtrack for the evening will be a set by German DJ, Purple Disco Machine. A Grammy award-winning musician, he has gained popularity for his feel-good disco tunes, and remixes of hits by artists such as Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, and Sir Elton John.
Chicago-born DJ Honey Dijon will follow with what is sure to be a pulse-raising set that will continue into the early hours. The Grammy award-winning artist, who has collaborated with musicians such as Beyoncé as well as luxury fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, is known for her electrifying house and techno music designed to uplift and liberate.
The following morning, as the train rolls through northern Italy, a continental breakfast will be served before arrival in Venice.
For the second year, Travel with Pride will support UK trans-led charity Not A Phase.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be back for a second year of celebrations on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express with our friends at Belmond. It is through events and points of visibility like these that we are able to continue to grow and maintain our projects around the UK that support the trans+ community and spread a message of pure joy. We truly appreciate Belmond’s support and look forward to continuing to work together to celebrate diversity and create positive change”, said the founder of Not A Phase and LGBTQ+ activist, Danielle St James.
Pascal Deyrolle, General Manager, Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, Europe added, “As a sign of Belmond’s continued commitment to providing an inclusive environment for all guests and members of staff, where individuality is celebrated, we are delighted to welcome back this special ‘Travel with Pride’ journey after its huge inaugural success last year as well as proud to continue our support of Not A Phase.”
Rates for Travel with Pride start at £3,785 per person in a Historic Cabin, including ground transfers in Paris and Venice, 24-hour steward service, all meals with sommelier’s choice of wine, and soft drinks.
