The all-suite Viking Ra will be the newest ship in Egypt, specifically built to navigate the Nile.

Viking Cruises has announced the launch of their new ship, Viking Ra, and their new Egypt itinerary which ventures down the River Nile in March 2018.

The 24-suite Viking Ra, specifically designed to navigate the Nile, accommodates 48 guests and features an onboard Spa, two jacuzzis and an outdoor pool. While the design is predominantly Scandinavian in style, it also features geometric Arabic patterns and terrazzo floors. The onboard dining, bar and lounge offer regional and international cuisine.

Guests travelling on the 12 day Pharaohs and Pyramids itinerary will be met in Cairo, where they will visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammed Ali, before staying overnight in a luxury hotel. Guests then fly to Luxor, where they board the Viking Ra and sail for a seven-day round trip along the Nile. This will include excursions to the Dendera Temple complex in Qena, the Temple of Khnum in Esna and a small Nubian Village elementary school. Finally, the trip concludes with a flight back to Cairo and a final night in the city.

The Vikings Culture Curriculum will be available onboard, which includes folkloric shows, musical performances, and history and art lectures.

Book a 12 day Pharaohs and Pyramids cruise and save A$2,000 per couple. Offer includes flight to Egypt and is valid until June 30 2017. Prices start at A$6,895 for departure on May 18, 2018.
