Seven dedicated hotel and resort categories are now open for entries in the 2024 Luxury Travel Gold List Awards

This year’s Luxury Travel Gold List Awards will highlight the most impressive hotels and resorts across seven categories. Nominees in each category should represent the best of their field by offering exemplary accommodations to the modern luxury traveller. Entries are currently open for nominees across all categories.

Innovation in sustainability, design, wellness and other aspects of the luxury hospitality experience will be recognised in these categories. The 2024 Gold List Awards categories for hotels and resorts are: Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (1-25 rooms), Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (26-50 rooms), Luxury Hotel (51+ rooms), Luxury Hotel Brand, Luxury Hotel or Resort – Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific, New Hotel or Resort Design and Sustainable Luxury Resort. Keep reading for more detail on each subcategory.

Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (1-25 rooms)

This redesigned category offers the most intimate boutique getaways the change to shine in this year’s Gold List Awards. Previously combined with the Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (26-50 rooms) category, the new segment means a more well-rounded understanding of the best boutique hotels, resorts and lodges of all sizes.

Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (26-50 rooms)

Like the aforementioned category, the amended Boutique Hotel, Resort, or Lodge (26-50 rooms) category offers Luxury Travel Magazine readers a more in depth understanding of the best boutique destinations around the globe.

Luxury Hotel (51+ rooms)

This new category expands the Luxury Travel Gold List Awards by seeking to designate the most luxurious hotels with a minimum of 51 rooms. While last year’s award season awarded boutique hotels, 2024’s awards will give a more all-encompassing review of the best of the best in luxury hotels and resorts.

Luxury Hotel Brand

Luxury Hotel Brands of all sizes are welcome to enter this year’s Luxury Hotel Brand category. Nominees should be leaders in the luxury hotel scene, driving the momentum of the industry to improve standards and innovate in the sector

Luxury Hotel or Resort – Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific

With this year’s Gold Awards looking to highlight the best of Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific luxury travel, the inclusion of this category comes as no surprise. Nominees from this subregion should craft guest experiences that inspire both travellers and other luxury hotels and resorts.

New Hotel or Resort Design

The New Hotel or Resort Design subcategory seeks to feature this year’s emerging luxury accommodations that centre the needs of travellers at the heart of their design. Architectural features are at the forefront of this category, so nominees must offer designs that awe.

Sustainable Luxury Resort

Nominees to the Sustainable Luxury Resort category should have unique experiences that re-conceptualise what it means to be a sustainable brand. Last year’s winners (and, yes, there were two!) operated on sustainability concepts like minimal impact and waste-to-wealth initiatives.
