Aurora Expeditions’ new Antarctica 2024–25 season brochure, the most comprehensive season yet, is packed with incredible journeys to the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Chilean Fjords.

Award-winning, Australian-owned expedition company Aurora Expeditions has pioneered expedition and adventure travel for more than 32 years and its 2024–25 Antarctic season combines a remarkable mix of itineraries — 25 voyages ranging from 9 to 23 days that include classic routes, new itineraries, and a collection of special themed expeditions.

The company’s two state-of-the-art ships the Greg Mortimer and the Sylvia Earle were purpose-built for voyaging to the most remote places on earth. They each accommodate an average of 132 passengers and feature the revolutionary ULSTEIN X-Bow®, which provides improved stability, enhanced ship speed, and reduced environmental impact.

Passengers enjoy small-group off-ship adventures in kayaks and Zodiacs that are launched from a specially designed hydraulic platform, while the hand-picked expedition team who lead the tours present engaging briefings and talks onboard that add an extra depth of knowledge to the destinations you’re visiting. The ships are designed for wildlife watching and feature indoor lounge areas with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views, and multiple open decks with expansive 270- to 360-degree views.

Facilities onboard both ships include saunas, jacuzzis, and gyms (Sylvia Earle also boasts a heated swimming pool and a glass atrium lounge). Elegantly appointed spacious cabins range from twin and double-bed options to private balcony cabins and interconnecting staterooms — and all have heated floors in the bathrooms. With Aurora Expeditions’ voyages taking place in remote areas, the ships each have a fully resourced medical clinic, open 24 hours a day and staffed by qualified medical professionals.

The new season Antarctica 2024|2025 brochure features the most comprehensive season yet, with its first voyage in the Chilean Fjords, a stunning maze of waterways filled with bird and sea life surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains. The Fjords are featured in two itineraries: a 14-day fly/sail ‘Antarctic Explorer featuring the Chilean Fjords’ round-trip voyage from Punta Arenas, Chile, departing March 1, 2025, and a 13-day ‘Spirit of Antarctic featuring the Chilean Fjords’ expedition from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia, Argentina, departing March 13, 2025.

Another new itinerary is ‘In Shackleton’s Footsteps’, a 20-day epic adventure that retraces the historic voyage of the Endurance, venturing into the Weddell Sea to Elephant Island, the desolate outpost where Ernest Shackleton and his men finally made landfall after 497 days at sea. The voyage continues across the Scotia Sea to South Georgia, where Shackleton’s voyage reached its climactic conclusion. It departs from Ushuaia, Argentina on March 16, 2025.
