The first five-star resort on the Indonesian island of Flores, AYANA Komodo will give modern explorers the chance to visit some of the most beautiful islands in the Indonesian Archipelago, including the UNESCO Heritage Site of Komodo National Park

AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach opened its doors for the first time this week as the first and only five star resort on the Indonesian island of Flores.

The sparkling new resort will allow guests to check-in from the 11th floor lobby and access their room by descending towards the sandy shores, with the 205 rooms featuring a design inspired by light, comfort and open living. Each contemporary room has a flawless ocean view, with large windows that capture the golden glow of a tropical West Coast sunset behind the distinctive Kukusan Island.

In addition to the new resort, and in making full use of the extensive private pier, AYANA Komodo will launch the world’s largest specially built phinisi ship, AYANA Lako di’a on 1st October. The impressive 54-meter AYANA Lako di’a features nine luxurious bedrooms, including a master suite with a private deck, and exquisite lounging and dining areas.

AYANA will also launch a fleet of water vessels, including a bespoke catamaran, Lako Taka, a glass bottom boat; Lako Cama, a speedboat, and a second specially built phinisi. The new aqua fleet will transport guests to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Komodo National Park – home to the famous Komodo Dragon, the world’s largest species of lizard, which cannot be found anywhere else on earth. Day trips and longer voyages of up to three nights will be on offer, sailing to some of the world’s finest dive spots as well as the surreal landscapes of Padar Island and the Cunca Rami waterfall, Rinca and 26 other smaller islands.

The new Ayana offers a scenic oasis set in one of the most rugged and beautiful islands of the Indonesian Archipelago, and is located just a one-hour flight from the tourist hub of Bali.
