COMO Hotels & Resorts will bring its sleek take on five-star hospitality to the Italian Dolomites when it opens a 60-key property in the ski resort of Val Gardena, on Alpe di Siusi, South Tyrol, on 7 December.
COMO Alpina Dolomites will operate as a year-round retreat, allowing guests to explore and experience the UNESCO Natural World Heritage-listed beauty of the Dolomites in all seasons.
The renowned ski-in/ski-out resort of Val Gardena is part of Italy’s Dolomite Superski circuit, offering 175 kilometres of exhilarating off-piste, cross-country, and guided tracks, catering to all skiers, whether novice or advanced. Off-season activities include hiking, mountain biking, and horse riding.
COMO Alpina Dolomites has a striking design, with quartzite and wood integrated into its exterior to blend with its Alpine surroundings. The entrance is designed to resemble a rock crevice, and the construction has been conceptualised to allow in plenty of light, which complements the natural materials used in the interior design.
A COMO Shambhala Retreat will offer a spa program centred on the brand’s holistic wellness ethos, while guest amenities include a 22-metre swimming pool, a seven-metre outdoor pool, a sauna, relaxation zones, a fitness centre, and beauty services.
Guests will have three dining options, with casual fare served at Alpina Chalet; Sassolungo, serving health-driven food created by COMO Shambhala Cuisine; and the Lobby Lounge with complimentary afternoon tea, drinks, and small bites.
Room rates start at €530 (about AUD$891) per night in summer, and €630 (about AUD$1060) per night in winter, including breakfast.
