Due for completion soon, the Scenic Eclipse II Discovery Yacht will join Scenic’s fleet in April to commence voyages around the world.
Australian-founded luxury cruise and tour company Scenic will launch its anticipated, second ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, in April 2023. Joining existing ship Scenic Eclipse, the fleet of two expedition ships have been built with innovative design and state-of-the-art technology. The 11-day Incredible Iberian Discovery, from Lisbon to Barcelona, will mark its first voyage.
“Scenic Eclipse II is being built to the very highest standards, so she is really built from the bottom up to operate in the most extreme environments in the world,” said Vice President Marine Operations, James Griffiths.
“She is able to go places that the absolute vast majority of cruise ships are unable to visit. We are also the only operator to carry two permanent helicopters and a submarine on board and add a unique perspective for our guests, by flying high above and diving 200 metres below the ocean,” said James.
An expansive Senses Spa is fitted with dedicated male and female wellness areas that include saunas, steam rooms, colour and cold therapies with relaxation lounges, a manicure/pedicure studio and a dedicated Yoga and Pilates studio. Further new wellness facilities on Scenic Eclipse II include an aromatherapy and integrated ice fountain and experience showers; and KLAFS custom salt therapy lounge with heated beds.
Itineraries
The two Scenic Eclipse Discovery Yachts will be able to take guests on 85 voyages through 54 countries. New itineraries include journeys in Australia, Indonesia and the Pacific.
Highlights include the inaugural voyage of Scenic Eclipse II on the the 11-day Incredible Iberian Discovery from Lisbon to Barcelona, departing 13 April, 2023.
The 15-Day Beyond the Antarctic Circle through Antarctica on Scenic Eclipse II voyage departs on 8 January, 2024 – a round trip from Buenos Aires. The ship is purpose-built for this region with a Polar Class-6 rating. Guests will be led on adventures ashore by 20 expert Discovery Team members.
A 12-day Exploring the High Arctic, departing 24 August 2023, will take in Iceland and the Denmark Strait, where you can spot whales, polar foxes, glaciers and the icebergs of Disko Bay.
In Australia, the 11-day Discover the Kimberley Coastline: An Ancient Wilderness voyage will mark a special journey to local waters for the Australian-founded company from 9 June, 2024. Guests will be able to become immersed in Australia’s ancient indigenous culture and learn from the traditional owners of the land.
