The cargo cruise line returns to Bora Bora in 2024 and releases more Discovery cruises to take passengers to explore off-the-beaten-track parts of French Polynesia.

Cruise travellers interested in exploring the white sand beaches and pristine turquoise waters of French Polynesia can join the boutique cruise line, Aranui, on a series of journeys around the South Pacific in 2024.

Taking place aboard Aranui 5, a 125-metre mixed freight and passenger vessel, the majority of the 20 itineraries span 12 days round-trip from Papeete to the six inhabited Marquesas Islands—Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Tahuata, Fatu Hiva and Hiva Oa. While the ship delivers cargo, guests can disembark to explore remote ports on a range of excursions like hikes, 4WD tours, and visits to archaeological sites.

On the newly relaunched Bora Bora itinerary, Aranui 5 will alternate between the Fakarava and Kauehi atolls of the Tuamotu islands en route north to the Marquesas, and the atolls of Rangiroa and Makatea on the return trip.

Two 11-day cruises to the Austral Islands will be offered in 2024, providing passengers with an opportunity to visit remote destinations such as Rapa, the smaller sister of Easter Island. Other new routes include a voyage to Pitcairn Island, calling at the Tuamotus and the Gambier Islands, a small volcanic group surrounded by coral reefs.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Bora Bora is back, providing the perfect balance of palm-fringed blue lagoons and lush volcanic vistas in our traditional Marquesas Islands itinerary. It’s the cherry on top of a fantastic French Polynesian cruise adventure and we are so excited to be taking guests back to Bora Bora’s dazzling blue lagoon in 2024”, said Aranui Cruises Regional Representative Australia New Zealand Laurent Wong.

Aranui 5 is a custom-built passenger freighter that accommodates 230 passengers in 103 cabins. She has eight total guest decks, with interior décor that reflects the Polynesian heritage of her owners and crew.

Early bird pricing for 2024 journeys starts from AUD$7421 per person twin share for bookings made before February 28, 2023.
