One&Only is opening a lush Greek island hideaway

The resort will be located on an ‘untouched gem’ of an island in the Cyclades and boast all-villa accommodation

One&Only has announced it will open a new property this spring on Kéa Island in the Greek Cyclades, located a 30-minute boat ride from Athens. Considered one of Greece’s hidden gems, the island, which has a population of around 2,300 people, has long been a favourite weekend getaway for Athenians.

One&Only Kéa Island is positioned above a protected cove on the rugged west coast and promises discretion, seclusion, and authentic Aegean living, according to the brand. The all-villa resort – the second in Greece for the ultra-luxury brand following the debut of One&Only Aesthesis in November 2023 – features 63 cliffside villas with one- and two-bedroom configurations.

Designed by renowned architect John Heah, each villa offers contemporary design and an outdoor terrace with a private infinity pool, while the light-filled interiors showcase white marble, curved atriums, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic views over Kéa’s dramatic landscapes and the Aegean Sea. The Two-Bedroom Cliff Villas can accommodate up to four adults and two children, with features including two marble-clad ensuites, a kitchenette for in-villa entertaining, and a dining area on the sun-bathed terrace.

Dining

One&Only Kéa Island offers five restaurants and bars, with each drawing inspiration from Kéa’s agrarian roots, and showcasing seasonal ingredients and local producers. Eateries include Atria, an authentic village piazza offering Greek cuisine; Kosmos lobby bar, offering elevated Afternoon Tea with a Greek twist and sunset drinks; Kaiki, serving relaxed bites and drinks overlooking the resort’s main pool and the Aegean Sea; Èpicora wine bar, a sophisticated setting for artisanal cheeses, local charcuterie and Greek wines; and the aptly-named Incognito, a moody Cuban-accented speakeasy located behind a secret door and accommodating just 20 guests.

Wellness

The resort’s wellness offerings will include an exclusive three-storey One&Only Spa offering treatments inspired by Greek mythology and the healing benefits of natural ingredients, in partnership with Subtle Energies. The wellness centre will also offer intensive programs designed to reset and re-energise, rejuvenating beauty rituals grounded in the Aegean elements of earth and water, an indoor-outdoor fitness centre, a sea-view yoga pavilion, and watsu therapy.

Leisure

The resort will offer a variety of experiences celebrating Kéa’s natural and cultural wonders, with various activities on offer including yacht excursions, diving at historic wrecks and exploring secluded beaches. Guests can also enjoy Panigiri celebrations, archaeology sessions, cycling and hiking to ancient ruins. For the kids, Club One will offers activities for all ages, including tennis and padel.

A glamorous beach club, Bond Beach Club, on the resort’s tranquil bay will cater to the myriad visitors who arrive at Kéa aboard private yachts, and offer a calendar of guest DJs along with a menu of locally-inspired bites and elevated cocktails. Guests of both One&Only Kéa Island and One&Only Aesthesis can also enjoy direct speedboat transfers between the two resorts.

Private homes

One&Only Kéa Island is also offering 40 private homes for purchase. Inspired by modern Greek design, the exclusive freehold villas offer a choice of one to six bedrooms, with layouts spanning 180–3,020 square metres and boasting a range of luxurious amenities, including gardens, dining terraces, and cliffside swimming pools.

“There is something very special about Kéa, and we are committed to honoring that in a way that is true to the island and its people,” stated Jerome Colson, General Manager of One&Only Kéa Island.

One&Only Kéa Island will begin welcoming guests in May 2024. For reservations or more information, visit oneandonlyresorts.com/kea-island.
