Qantas has announced plans to construct its next flagship lounge in London’s Heathrow Airport, with construction scheduled to begin in September 2016. The split-level lounge, set for an early 2017 open, will be designed to provide premium services and facilities, and will be located in Terminal 3. With views across the airfield, the lounge is designed to cater for 230 travellers. Qantas lounges have recently seen international expansion in Singapore, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce is ‘excited to be bringing this successful formula to our customers in London.’
The new lounge will feature a Rockpool dining experience, full-service bar with Rockpool cocktails, bathroom facilities including showers, business facilities and a children’s zone. Qantas business and first class passengers, Platinum One, Platinum and Gold members from the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, and passengers travelling in tiered cabins on partner airlines with a QF code will have access to the new lounge.
